As Christians, serving is very essential in our lives. God has called us to serve, when we help people in one way or the other, solve problems or meet needs of people, we are serving God.
God created man in His image therefore He made man a worker just as He is. True service to God is when one works to meet the needs of others. So we gain our maximum fulfillment in life when we serve people, when we meet the needs of people.
