Mind #Your #Opportunities
God is a God of opportunities.
A critical skill you need to develop on your pilgrim progress in God is the the skill of maximizing opportunities. Paul teaches in ephesians that we should make most of every opportunity. I feel like adding, even the opportunities in pain.
However, not every opportunity that seems good is from God. Neither is it all opportunities God Himself brings, He wants you to maximize.
Yesterday morning i was listening to 1 Samuel. In chapter 26, a “golden opportunity” to end his rebel and wondering status was presented to David by God. The King that had been hunting to kill him was at His mercy, being asleep with all His men.
Interestingly scripture pointed out that it was the Lord that caused Saul and his men to fall into deep sleep. The kind He put Adam into.
Hear what Davids assistant, Abishai said to David, “Today God has delivered your enemy into your hands. Now let me pin him to the ground with one thrust of the spear; I won’t strike him twice.”
But David was discerning to know that although this opportunity was from God, he would have to contradict his conviction in God to maximize it.
You may ask why would God bring you a “golden opportunity” He doesn’t want you to maximize, especially when it will bring about the fulfillment of His own promise. I guess its to test your conviction.
This 2020 God will be bringing you many opportunities but you need to be discerning to identify the ones you should pursue and the ones you should ignore. Learn to discern the things of the Spirit because most times they sound like foolishness to the ordinary wise guys.
This year, you will thrive.
